Aim of the funding
The Peter Manschot Fund (PMF) supports the development of family medicine training (mainly postgraduate, but undergraduate as well) and capacity building of the discipline FM.
PMF funds projects that fit these ambitions. It helps to initiate/ develop FM training in sub-Saharan Africa

Budget
The requested funding has a maximum of EURO 2.500,- per project. We ask proof of co-financing. Applications should be entered in the specified format (see link) , and be sent to the secretariat

Exclusion
PMF does not provide funding for conferences, buildings or running costs of a department

Procedure
Evaluation of the applications is done by an evaluation committee, consisting of 3 members: the chair, the secretary, the treasurer and two additional members of the PMF board. Members of the evaluation committee that have personal links to the application are excluded from the evaluation process.
All members read the proposal and mark it according to the preset evaluation criteria, ranging from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent) for each of the criteria, resulting in a total score for each proposal.
The secretary coordinates the evaluation process.

Criteria for evaluation
Application should meet the following 6 criteria:
1. Clear problem analysis and needs assessment
2. Adequate description of the project
3. The interventions or activities are an adequate answer to the problem and is supported by the literature
4. The proposal fits in a long term vision and contributes to the ambition of the organization
5. The application meets the budget and has demonstrated co-financing
6. The application includes criteria for success and describes the way how outcome will be measured

Final decision
Decisions on the financial support are based on the advice of the evaluation committee of the PMF board
